Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts Provincial Civil Service. PCS is generally a state-level civil service under Group A and Group B. The UPPSC Prelims Paper is a qualifying test, and the candidates’ marks will not be counted in the final merit list; however, good marks in the UPPSC Prelims Exam are required to be shortlisted for the Mains Exam. The UPPSC Prelims Paper consists of two sections: General Studies-1 and General Studies-2 (CSAT). There are 150 MCQs in Paper-1 and 100 MCQs in Paper-2. 6 GS Papers have been added to the UPPSC main examination in addition to the Essay and General Hindi Paper, which is only one of the important adjustments made by the commission. From the Main Exam 2023, the UPPSC Optional Subject has been eliminated. The way the UPPCS prelims and main test are conducted is known as the UPPSC PCS exam pattern. The official notification from the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission includes the UPPCS test pattern. The Commission altered the exam format for the UPPCS 2023 and eliminated the optional subject from the main test. The optional subjects were eliminated and two General Studies papers were added to the main test by the Commission.
