HPSC Exam Pattern 2023
HPSC, also known as the Haryana Public Service Commission, is the main constitutional body of the Haryana government. The top applicants are chosen for the various civil service and departmental positions in Haryana through this nodal agency’s administration of the Haryana State Civil Services Examinations as well as other competitive examinations.
The PCS exam, which stands for Provincial Civil Services Examination, tests candidates for administrative positions. Candidates for the HPSC Exam can apply for Group A and Group B positions through the State Public Service Commission.
Learning about the HPSC Exam Pattern, curriculum, and scoring system is the first step in getting ready for the HCS (Executive Branch) and Allied Services Exam. HPSC Exam 2023 Stages
The Haryana Government has modified the format of the HCS prelims test, which is at present in line with the IAS prelims exam because of the paper pattern and type of questions asked. The HPSC HCS Exam 2023 has three stages:
- Preliminary Examination,
- Mains Examination and
- Personal Interview
To qualify, one must pass each stage of this exam. Every year, thousands of students show up with the aim of being hired for positions in the state’s administration. However, the HPSC only announces a few hundred positions each year for which the candidates are chosen. HPSC HCS Prelims Exam Pattern 2023
The main obstacle that needs to be overcome is this. There are two objective-type papers with multiple-choice questions in the Haryana PCS Preliminary Exam. These two papers are worth a total of 200 points in total.

Based on the optional subject you chose from the 19 subjects HPSC offers, Paper-II assesses you. It is important to mark your responses carefully because the Haryana PCS exam uses 1/4th negative marking, meaning that 0.25 marks will be subtracted from the final result for each incorrect response. There won’t be any deductions for questions that aren’t answered. There will be two language options for the exam: Hindi and English.
HPSC HCS Mains Exam Pattern 2023
Once the candidate qualifies for the Preliminary Examination, becomes eligible to write the Mains Exam. The Haryana PCS Mains Exam consists of 5 descriptive papers where 600 marks are up for grabs.

Papers IV and V will test your knowledge of two of the 23 subjects that Haryana PCS has provided. Due to the fact that each of these two exams carries 150 marks, for a total of 300 marks in the Mains Exam, and that both must be finished in the allotted three hours per paper, they carry the highest weight.
HPSC HCS Interview Stage 2023
Based on the results of the main exam, the shortlisted applicants who successfully complete the first two phases are qualified for the personal interview. It takes place on the grounds of the HPSC in Panchkula. There are 75 total marks for the interview. The final merit list would then be created using all 675 of the available marks. The final merit list is compiled using the scores from the Main Exam and Interview.
The HPSC will contact the candidates who pass the HPSC HCS Mains Exam 2023 to schedule a personality test or interview. No applicant will be contacted for the HCS interview unless they receive a combined total of 45% on all of the major written examinations and 33% on the Hindi and English examinations.
