UPSC Mains DAF-I 2026 Window Opens on June 19 at upsconline.nic.in, Check Application Process

The next step in the process of conducting the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 is being commenced by the Union Public Service Commission following the declaration of the UPSC Prelims Result 2026 on June 15, 2026. Candidates who have qualified for the Preliminary Examination are required to fill out the UPSC Mains DAF-I 2026 to validate their candidature for the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026.
As per the official UPSC notice, candidates will be able to submit their DAF-I from June 19 to 28, 2026, on the UPSC website at upsconline.nic.in. Candidates who will be unable to submit their DAF-I during the specified time frame will not receive the e-Admit Card for the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026.

UPSC Mains DAF-I 2026

Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) is the mandatory application form to be filled up by all those who qualify the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination to appear in the Civil Services Main Examination. UPSC Prelims Result 2026 and DAF-I Window

UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2026 was held on 24 May 2026, while its results were announced on 15 June 2026. 13,343 students have passed in order to get admissions to Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 out of which only 1,016 posts have been advertised for the recruitment cycle. Those who have qualified will have to undertake DAF-I process from 19 June to 28 June 2026.

What Information Needs to be Submitted in UPSC DAF-I 2026?

UPSC has specified that all qualified candidates will be provided an online window to submit or update the following information:

1. Payment of Mains Examination Fee

Candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an examination fee of ₹200 for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026.

However, the following categories are exempted from fee payment:

  • Female Candidates
  • Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST)
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

2. Scribe and Assistive Device Details

Candidates requiring disability-related support can update:

3. Cadre Preference Submission

Candidates are required to fill their cadre preferences for allocation to All India Services and Central Civil Services after final selection.
