One Station One Product (OSOP) Scheme
- Spearheaded by: Indian Railways, falling under the Ministry of Railways.
- Launch: The pilot phase of this initiative was rolled out on March 25, 2022.
- Objective: To support the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement, the scheme aims to encourage the sale of indigenous products across the nation.
- Design and Implementation: The scheme’s design and layout have been crafted by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, ensuring a unique presentation of sale outlets.
- Goals: It envisions transforming railway stations into promotional hubs where local and indigenous products are highlighted and sold.
- Rotation Policy: To ensure fairness, the scheme operates on a rotational basis, allowing all qualified applicants an opportunity to sell their goods.
- Beneficiaries: Local craftsmen, including artisans, potters, weavers, and tribal communities, by providing them with a platform to sell their products.
- Stall Allotment and Duration: Qualified individuals are granted a temporary stall or kiosk at railway stations for a 15-day period, against a nominal fee of Rs 1,000 paid to the Railways.
- Allocation Process: Outlets at various stations are allocated through a tender process, ensuring transparent and wide-reaching opportunities for vendors.
- Operational Details: Zonal railways are tasked with selecting suitable stations, determining eligible products, and identifying vendors for participation in the scheme.
