UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern

UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern: To prepare for the UPSC CSE 2023 Exam, candidates must understand the comprehensive Exam Pattern UPSC CSE 2023. The exam will be conducted in the following three stages:

UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern: Prelims Stage I

Paper I General Studies I 200 2 hrs
Paper II General Studies II 200 2 hrs

  • Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration. 
  • The General Studies Paper-II of the UPSC CSE 2023 will be a qualifying paper with 33% minimum qualifying marks. 
  • The UPSC IAS question papers will be set both in English and Hindi.

UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern: Negative Marking Rule

There will be a one-third (1/3rd) penalty or Negative Marking of the marks assigned to that question, for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Stage I or objective type question papers.

UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern: Personality Test Stage III

After clearing the written examination, the candidate faces a Personality Test in which mostly questions are based on the general interests topics. The purpose of the interview round or personality test is for a Board of knowledgeable and objective UPSC observers to examine if the candidate is suitable for a career in public service.

Ans. Yes, On May 28, 2023, the UPSC CSE exam will take place.

Q. How can I prepare for CSE 2023?

Ans. UPSC CSE is a comprehensive examination. For the preparation of this exam, candidates should be aware about the UPSC CSE exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly. This exam takes at least one year to complete all the important parts of the syllabus. 

Q. When will IAS form come in 2023?

Ans. On 1st February, 2023, UPSC will release the UPSC CSE 2023 notification at their official website and the application form will also be released on February 1, 2023 and last date for the application will be 21st February, 2023.

Q. How many months current affairs UPSC 2023?

Ans. For the civil service examination, UPSC does not specify the certain time limit for covering the current affairs. However, aspirants can prepare for at least one year (from may 2022 onwards to April/May month of  2023) of current affairs thoroughly.
