Phase I → Phase II → Phase III Interview
Phase I
Phase I is an online screening examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each.
Paper 1 – Common for All Streams
| Subject | Marks | Questions |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | 25 | 20 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 20 |
| Reasoning | 25 | 30 |
| General Awareness, including Financial Sector | 25 | 20 |
| Total | 100 | 90 |
Duration: 60 minutes.
Paper 2 carries 100 marks and tests the General stream’s subjects such as Commerce, Accountancy, Management, Finance, Costing, Companies Act, Economics, Pension Sector, AI, Media, Marketing & Communication. For Research, Actuary and Rajbhasha candidates, Paper 2 focuses on the relevant specialised subject.
There is 1/4th negative marking in Phase I. Candidates must clear both paper-wise and aggregate cut-offs. Phase I marks are used only for shortlisting and are not counted in final selection.
PFRDA Grade A Phase II Exam
Phase II consists of two papers of 100 marks each:
Paper 1: English Descriptive Test to assess drafting skills
Paper 2: Stream-specific objective examination
Paper 1 carries a duration of 60 minutes, while Paper 2 has a duration of 40 minutes. Paper 2 carries 1/4th negative marking.
Candidates must qualify the prescribed paper-wise and aggregate cut-offs. Candidates up to five times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit.
