Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)
Context: Recently the Union Home Minister addressed the first Foundation Day programme of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). There he launched 4 new components under I4C namely CFMC, Samanvay platform and Cyber Suspect Registry & Cyber Commando Program.
What is I4C ?
- It is an initiative of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to deal with cyber crime in the country in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.
- Objectives/Functions of I4C:
- To act as a nodal point to curb Cybercrime in the country.
- Facilitate easy filing Cybercrime related complaints and identifying Cybercrime trends and patterns.
- Awareness creation among the public about preventing Cybercrime.
- Assist States/UTs in capacity building of Officials in the area of cyber forensic, investigation, cyber hygiene, cyber-criminology, etc.
- Newly Launched Components:
- Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC):
- It will bring representatives of major banks, Financial Intermediaries, Payment Aggregators, Telecom Service Providers, IT Intermediaries and States/UTs Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on a single platform.
- They will work together for immediate action and seamless cooperation to tackle online financial crimes.
- CFMC will serve as an example of “Cooperative Federalism” in law enforcement.
- Samanvay Platform (Joint Cybercrime Investigation Facilitation System):
- It is a web-based module that will act as a one stop portal for data repository of cybercrime, data sharing, crime mapping, data analytics etc. for Law Enforcement Agencies across the country.
- Cyber Commandos’ Program:
- Under this program a special wing of trained ‘Cyber Commandos’ in States/UTs and Central Police Organizations (CPOs) will be established to counter threats of cyber security landscape in the country.
- Suspect Registry:
- A Suspect Registry of various identifiers is being created based on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), in collaboration with banks and financial intermediaries.
- It will strengthen fraud risk management

Context: The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued its first guidance on antibiotic pollution from manufacturing ahead of the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
About AMR
- It refers to the ability of microorganisms to persist or grow in the presence of drugs (Antimicrobials) designed to inhibit or kill them.
- Antimicrobials: are medicines used to prevent and treat infectious diseases in humans, animals and plants. They include antibiotics, anti-virals, antifungals, and antiparasitics

Polaris Dawn Mission
Context: Recently SpaceX launched the Polaris Dawn mission. It is a multi-day orbital expedition carrying a four-member civilian crew for the first spacewalk by non-professional astronauts.
About Polaris Dawn Mission
- It is a privately-funded space mission led by Billionaire Jared Isaacman, in collaboration with SpaceX.
- It is the first non-government mission to conduct a spacewalk at an altitude of approximately 700 kilometres (435 miles) above Earth.
- Launch Vehicle: Falcon 9 rocket of Space-X.
- The spacecraft will attempt to break the altitude record set by NASA’s Gemini 11 mission in 1966, which reached 1,373 kilometres.

National Testing House
Context: The Quality Control of India has approved the National Test House as the certifying body for drones.
About National Testing House (NTH)
- It is a multidisciplinary industrial testing laboratory.
- Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
- Branches: Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Varanasi.
- Functions:
- It is the leading governmental entity in India for drone certification.
- Offers Testing, calibration, and evaluation services for both raw materials and finished products.
- Provides technical consultancy services.
- Organises training programs for students in engineering colleges and other scientific and technical institutions.
- The Central Government is planning to make NTH as the apex certification body for all Indian products, including food, spices, and organic products.
