The Kashi Declaration is a key outcome of the Youth Spiritual Summit held in Varanasi in July 2025. It is a collective spiritual and social commitment adopted by youth leaders and spiritual organisations to build a drug-free, value-driven India by the year 2047.

• Vision: To create a Nasha Mukt Yuva (Drug-Free Youth) as the foundation for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
• Five-Year Roadmap: It lays out a 5-year action plan to:

  • Promote awareness against drug abuse.

Youth Spiritual Summit in Varanasi

A great Youth Spiritual Summit was conducted in Varanasi, India, on July 18-20, 2025. The theme of the summit was “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” (Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India), emphasising a very important national movement to eradicate substance abuse among youth. • Attendees: More than 600 young representatives of over 120 spiritual and socio-cultural bodies spread across India, academicians, domain specialists, as well as several Union Ministers and state ministers.
• Major Discussions & Sessions: The conference included four specialised plenary sessions on key areas of substance abuse:
  • Perceiving the psychological and social effects of addiction.
  • Strategies for dismantling the drug supply chain and business interests.
  • Successful grassroots campaign models and effective communication strategies.
  • Creating a roadmap for making a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ by 2047.
