Key Demands of Centre’s Pact with Tripura

Creation of “Greater Tipraland,” a separate state for Tripura’s tribal population, including enhancements to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Requests for TTAADC include direct funding from the Centre, its own police force, and revenue sharing from state gas exploration.
They also seek official status for the Roman script for Kokborok language.

Accord Details

The accord pledges to address indigenous issues related to history, land, political rights, economic development, identity, culture, and language in Tripura.
A joint working group/committee will be formed to expedite and implement agreed points for a respectful solution.
Stakeholders agreed to avoid protests/agitations from the agreement’s signing day to foster a positive implementation environment.
