OPSC OCS Mains Exam Date 2026 Out, October Exam Schedule, 465 Vacancies

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has officially announced that the OPSC OCS Mains Examination 2026 will be conducted in October 2026. The announcement comes after the declaration of the OPSC OCS Prelims Result 2026, in which 5,690 candidates (including 1,905 women) qualified for the next stage of the recruitment process.

The recruitment drive is being conducted for 465 Group A and Group B posts under the Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025. The detailed timetable for the mains written examination will be released shortly on the official website www.opsc.gov.in.

OPSC OCS Mains Exam 2026

The OPSC OCS Prelims Result 2026 was declared on 10 July 2026, and candidates shortlisted in the preliminary examination are now eligible to appear in the mains examination.

OPSC OCS Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Working knowledge of the Odia language by fulfilling any one of the prescribed language conditions mentioned in the notification.

Age Limit

As on 1 January 2025:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 38 years

Age relaxation:

  • SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
  • PwD (40% disability or more): 10 years

OPSC OCS Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process consists of four stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
  2. Mains Written Examination
  3. Personality Test/Interview
  4. Final Merit List

Only marks obtained in the Mains Examination and Interview are considered for the final merit ranking.

OPSC OCS Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive salaries as per the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay.

Group A Level 12 ₹56,100 per month
Group B Level 10 ₹44,900 per month

Apart from the basic pay, officers are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Benefits, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Pension benefits, and other government allowances.

Number of Attempts

Candidates are allowed the following attempts:

  • General Category: 6 attempts
  • SEBC Candidates: 9 attempts
  • SC/ST Candidates: No limit on attempts, subject to age eligibility.
