SSC CGL New Exam Date 2025: Re-Exam Date Announced, Full Details and Answer Key Update

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has finally released the SSC CGL 2025 re-exam date, and the news is making waves in student communities around the country. Following a string of disruptions and malpractice issues, the Commission has ensured that the re-examination will take place on October 14, 2025. The special re-test is only for those candidates who had their examination disrupted by the Mumbai fire incident on September 26, 2025, and also in cases where malpractice evidence is still unclear.
With more than 28 lakh registrations and key updates on answer keys, objections, future exams, and recent security incidents, the candidates have to remain vigilant. Below is a detailed analysis of everything you should know.

SSC CGL Re-Exam Date 2025 Out

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has formally declared the SSC CGL 2025 re-exam date. The re-exam will take place on October 14, 2025, for those whose tests were affected because of the September 26 Mumbai fire incident and for candidates whose malpractice cases were doubtful. As many as 28 lakh candidates have applied for the exam, out of which 13.5 lakh showed up for training at 255 centres in 126 cities. The Commission also intercepted fake PwBD certificates and remote access attempts. The SSC CGL answer key is set to be released on October 15, and so is the objection window.

Why is the SSC CGL 2025 Re-Exam Being Conducted?

The re-exam is not for all candidates. SSC clarified that the decision was made due to two major issues:

1. Mumbai Fire Disruption

On September 26, 2025, a fire incident in Mumbai disrupted the examination at specific centres. Affected candidates were unable to complete their paper.

2. Suspected Malpractice & Remote Access Attempts

SSC confirmed receiving reports of:

  • Fake PwBD certificates

  • Misuse of scribe facilities

  • Remote access attempts to exam systems

  • Digital footprint irregularities at some centres

Candidates involved in suspicious but inconclusive cases will also have to reappear to “set the record straight,” as per the official statement.
