RailOne App: Indian Railways Launches All-in-One Super App for Passengers

In a significant step towards digital transformation and enhanced passenger convenience, Indian Railways has launched its much-anticipated RailOne App — an all-in-one super app aimed at consolidating all essential railway passenger services under a single digital platform.

Launched on July 1, 2025, by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi, the app is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.

What is the RailOne App?

RailOne is an all-in-one mobile application developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the public sector undertaking responsible for IT infrastructure in Indian Railways. The app integrates multiple services such as ticket booking, live train tracking, PNR status checking, grievance redressal, and e-catering into a single platform, eliminating the need for passengers to juggle between different apps.

Key Features of the RailOne App

1. Unified Ticket Booking

Passengers can now book:

• Reserved tickets (through IRCTC partnership)

• Unreserved tickets

• Platform tickets

2. Single Sign-On (SSO) Access

• Users can log in using mPIN or biometric authentication.

• Supports existing credentials from RailConnect and UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) apps.

• New users get an easy registration process with minimal data entry.

• Rail Madad for complaint management

Important Updates Alongside RailOne Launch

Reservation Chart Timing Change

• Reservation charts will now be prepared 8 hours before train departure, earlier than the previous 4-hour window.

• This helps passengers get earlier confirmation or waitlist status.

Verified Tatkal Bookings

• From July 1, 2025, Tatkal bookings require verified IRCTC IDs authenticated via Aadhaar or DigiLocker.

• An OTP-based system will be implemented by end of July to reduce fraudulent bookings by agents.

Fare Rationalisation

• Slight hike in fares after five years:

  • ₹0.01 per km increase for non-AC Mail/Express trains.

  • ₹0.02 per km increase for AC classes.

• No changes for suburban and short-distance second-class tickets.

• Special provisions for divyangjan, students, and patients

• Advanced seat choice and fare calendar features
