Stage Details
1. Written Examination – Conducted by UPSC.
– Consists of two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).
– Assesses mathematical skills, English, GK, and reasoning.
– Qualifying in both papers is mandatory.
2. SSB Interview – For candidates who qualify for the written exam.
– Conducted over several days in two stages.
– Assesses officer-like qualities (OLQs) such as leadership, decision-making, communication, and psychological fitness.
– Includes: Psychological Tests, Group Discussions, Outdoor Tasks, and Personal Interviews.
3. Medical Examination – Conducted by a board of medical officers.
– Evaluates physical fitness and overall medical health.
– Ensures candidates meet the medical standards required for the armed forces.
4. Final Merit List – Based on performance in Written Exam, SSB Interview, and Medical Exam.
– Determines final selection and allocation to NDA or Naval Academy.
5. Training – Selected candidates undergo training at NDA (Khadakwasla) or Naval Academy (Ezhimala).
– Training includes academic, physical, leadership, and branch-specific military education.
