BSSC CGL Vacancy 2025 – Post-wise Distribution

A total of 1481 vacancies have been announced. The post-wise vacancy details are as follows:

Additionally, reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EBC, women (35% horizontal reservation), PwD (4%), and dependents of freedom fighters (2%) are applicable as per the Bihar Government rules.

BSSC CGL 2025 Important Dates

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has published the official schedule of exams for the recruitment of BSSC CGL 2025. The aspirants should monitor the significant dates so that they don’t miss deadlines. The registration process online will go on from 18th August to 17th September 2025, and the fee payment date is 17th September 2025. The date of the examination will be declared separately on the official website www.bssc.bihar.gov.in.

BSSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2025

Educational Qualification

• ASO & Planning Assistant: Graduation in any discipline.

• Junior Statistical Assistant (JSA): Graduation in Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Statistics.

• Data Entry Operator (DEO): Graduation with PGDCA / BCA / B.Sc (IT) or equivalent. (Also, B.Tech (CS/IT) and BE (CS/IT) candidates are eligible).

• Auditor (Finance Dept.): Graduation in Commerce, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics.

• Auditor (Cooperative Societies): Graduation with Mathematics or B.Com.

Age Limit (as on 01/08/2025)

• UR Male: 21 – 37 years

• UR Female, OBC, EBC: up to 40 years

• SC/ST (Male & Female): up to 42 years

• PwD Candidates: Additional 10 years relaxation

• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per government rules

BSSC CGL Selection Process 2025

The selection process will be conducted in two stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)

2. Mains Examination (Merit-based)

BSSC CGL Prelims Exam Pattern 2025

• Total Questions: 150

• Total Marks: 600

• Duration: 2 Hours 15 Minutes

• Marking Scheme: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect

Special Feature: Candidates are allowed to carry NCERT/Board Textbooks for General Studies, Mathematics, and Science during the Prelims exam (Open Book format).

BSSC CGL Mains Exam Pattern 2025

The Mains Exam will consist of two papers:

  • 100 Questions, 400 Marks

  • Minimum qualifying marks: 30%
