Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)

One of the largest chains of schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS) has 1125 schools in India and three schools abroad under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

First, it was being named as “central school” back in 1963, later the name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya. The main objective behind this initiative was to fulfil the educational needs of the transferable Central Government employees which also includes Défense and the para-military and the population of remote and undeveloped areas  by providing them a common base of education to all. Kendriya Vidyalaya works on the principle that education is for all without any restrictions and thus they follow uniform curriculum system all over India.

All the schools follow the common syllabus and offer Bilingual instructions i.e. Hindi and English to the students so that they can understand easily. The schools are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training(NCERT). Kendriya Vidyalayas have been working for more than 50 years. The Sangathan has its headquarters in New Delhi.

All the Vidyalayas are co-educational. The quality of teaching is high because teachers use to go under training sessions for months after that only they are selected. One of their mission is to develop the sense of “Indianness” among children for the betterment of the country.

KVS exam syllabus includes current affair, Reasoning/General Intelligence, General English, Teaching Methodology and Additional Subject for KVS PRT Teacher are- Mathematics and concerned subject (selected by candidates only). 

Kendriya Vidyalayas invites applications from Indians for all the teaching post (PGT, TGT, PRT) in North Eastern Zone, and Joint Commissioner (finance) and Deputy Commissioner (finance) on deputation basis in KVS.
