Senior IIS officer K S Dhatwalia has assumed the additional charge of the post of Director General of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. He is 1984-batch officer of Indian Information Service (IIS). At present he is Principal Director General (Research and Training) in Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has held some important positions in Ministry Information and Broadcasting and as Director General (Media and Communications) in Home Ministry.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC)
- It is Indian media centre of learning. It teaches variety of disciplines including print journalism, radio journalism, television journalism, photo journalism, communication research etc.
- It is autonomous society functioning under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is funded and promoted by Central Government.
- It was established in 1965. It is headquartered in New Delhi and has regional centres at Amravati (Maharashtra), Aizawl (Mizoram), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jammu (J&K) and Kottayam (Kerala).
