JK Liberation Front banned under UAPA

  • Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has banned Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) under provisions of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), 1967.
  • Under this law, Yasin Malik lead JKLF has been declared unlawful association for creating and spreading separatist ideology in the Kashmir Valley.
  • It also has been involved in separatist activities and violence since 1988. It has been creating hatred against Government as well as the armed rebellion.
  • UAPA has been enacted by Parliament to prevent unlawful activities association in India.
  • It provides necessary powers to investigating agencies to act against terror and separatist activities directed against the nation.

Oslo becomes world’s first city to install wireless charging stations

  • Norway’s capital city Oslo became world’s first city to install wireless, induction-based charging stations for its fleet of electric taxis.
  • For this initiative, Finland’s utility company ‘Fortum’ has collaborate with US company Momentum Dynamics.
  • Local Oslo Government will install induction charging plates in roads that allow for charging up to 75 kilowatts (kws).
  • Norway wants all new cars to be zero emission by 2025. Its capital city aims to have a zero-emission cab system by the year 2023.

EC launches PWD app for disabled voters in Maharashtra
