Japan, the world’s oldest continuous monarchy will undergo change of epoch, when Emperor Akihit will step down and his son, crown prince Naruhito, will be crowned to throne at end of april
The reign of each emperor is defined by gengo, or ‘era name’.
Emperor Akihito rule was “Heisei” meaning achieving peace and Naruhito’s reign will be “Reiwa” meaning “Auspicious/ Beautiful harmony”.
For first time in history era name comprising of two kanji (Chinese characters used in Japanese language) were drawn from Japanese classical literature, rather than Chinese source, which was traditional source for era names.
'Jashn-e-Ittihaad', a music and poetry festival was held at Jamia Milia Islamia central university in New Delhi.
In event soulful Hindi and Urdu poetry, music performances were observed to spread awareness about unity and integrity.
Opening of musical evening was with national anthem and a dance performance by young artistes Yuvraaj Katiyal and Mahira Katyal, followed by a performance by Irshad Kamil and his band -- The Ink Band. Mushaira by noted poets like Munawwar Rana, Waseem Barelvi, Shakeel Jamali, Iqbal Ashhar, and Madan Mohan Danish were also seen.

UN’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) summoned first global multi-stakeholder conference on synergies between 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Agreement on climate change at Copenhagen, Denmark.
United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition (UNSCN) hosted event titled ‘Sustainable diets for healthy people and healthy planet’, to provide a platform for sharing experiences and challenges in upgrading to healthy and sustainable diets. This was in alignment of climate change and 2030 agendas, SDG 2 and SDG 13.

The total outstanding debt of IL&FS is Rs 94,216 crore, of which Rs 48,470 crore is in four holding companies IL&FS, IL&FS Financial Services, IL&FS Energy Development Company Ltd and IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd.
