Kameng Hydropower Station

It is a 600 MW Kameng hydropower project that was developed by the state-owned North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO).

About Kameng Hydropower Station

This project, which spans more than 80 kilometres, costs over Rs. 8,200 crores to develop. The flows from the Bichom and Tenga rivers, which are tributaries of the River Kameng, are used in this run-of-the-river scheme.

Bichom and Tenga Dam

This project has two dams (Bichom and Tenga), four units of 150 MW each in its power plant, and can produce 3,353 million units of energy annually.

Benefits of Project

The project will assist Arunachal Pradesh to become a power-surplus state. As a result, the state will be able to share 83 MW of power.
