CDS 1 Exam Notification

CDS stand for Combined Defence Services examination. It is a national-level competitive examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year to select the candidates who want to serve in the defence services such as the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Naval Academy and Officer Training Academy.

CDS 1 2023 Selection Process

There are four rounds involved in the UPSC CDS 1 2023 Selection Process for the positions at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA). The four phases of UPSC CDS 2023 are detailed below.

CDS 1 2023 Exam Date

CDS 2023 Exam Date: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services (CDS) 1 Examination on April 16, 2023, and the CDS 2 examination on September 3, 2023, in order to fill all the vacancies of the defence forces.

CDS 1 2023 Application Form

The Union Public Service Commission’s official website will provide a link for the online UPSC CDS 1 2023 application soon. Candidates must successfully apply online for the CDS exam in order to participate in the process. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their application forms within the given time frames because no forms will be accepted after the window closes. How to Apply CDS 1 2023 Exam Online Application Form?

  • Visit upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in the official website.
  • Select UPSC CDS 1 2023 link to proceed further.
  • Enter your contact information in section I of the registration.
  • Enter your exam centre, attach a photo, sign the required fields and also pay the required fee in section II of the registration.
  • Save it, submit it, and print it out for future use.

CDS 1 2023 Exam Fees

CDS 1 2023 Exam Fees: Candidates need to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (with the exception of females, SC/ST candidates who are exempted from paying a fee) either through online or offline mode. OBC candidates have no fee exemption.

CDS 1 2023 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The applicants applying for the exam should make sure that they meet all requirements for admission to the examination. If they meet the required eligibility requirements, they will be admitted solely on a provisional basis at all examination stages.

CDS 1 2023 Nationality Condition

A candidate must be unmarried and must either be:

  • a Citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a person of Indian origin who moved to India with the purpose of staying there permanently, especially from Vietnam, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African nations such as Zambia, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia.

CDS 1 2023 Age Limit

For each post, the commission has established a certain age requirement, and applicants must meet this requirement in order to avoid having their application rejected at any point throughout the selection process.

Note: Candidates should be informed that the Commission will only accept the Date of Birth mentioned on the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate, or an equivalent certificate, on the date applications are submitted. Subsequent requests for its adjustment would not be taken into account or granted.

Important Information

Candidates for the Naval Academy Course or Indian Military Academy Course or Indian Air Force Academy Course or Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai must agree not to get married before the completion of their full training. The candidate will not be chosen for training even if he or she passes this or any following exams after getting married after the date of their application. If a candidate marries while in training, they must resign and reimburse the government for all expenses incurred by the government.

CDS 1 2023 Educational Qualification

Air Force Academy Degree of a Recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Officers’ Training Academy Degree of a Recognised University or Equivalent.
Note: Graduates who have chosen the Army, Navy, or Air Force as their first choice must present proof of graduation or provisional certificates at the SSB Interview.

Candidates who are enrolled in their final year/semester of a degree programme but haven’t yet passed the final degree examination are also eligible to apply for UPSC CDS 1 2023 exam provided they do not have any backlog from the previous semester or year at present.

CDS 1 2023 Online Application Last Date

The CDS 1 2023 Online Application Last Date is 10th January, 2023 till 6:00 PM. No application will be admitted after the link is disable. The CDS 2 2023 Online Application Last Date is 6th June, 2023 till 6:00 PM.

CDS 1 Syllabus 2023

The UPSC CDS Syllabus 2023 is released by the Union Public Service Commission every year along with the UPSC CDS notification PDF which will be released on 21st December, 2022 for UPSC CDS 2023 exam. UPSC CDS Syllabus is a comprehensive document to better understand the coverage area of the UPSC CDS examination for each and every subject separately. CDS 1 2023 Exam Result

Candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination of the CDS 1 2023, as determined by the Commission at its discretion, will be listed for the next stage i.e. SSB interview round by the Union Public Service Commission.

CDS 1 2023 Marks

The Commission shall publicly announce the results of the candidates (obtained in the Written Examination and SSB Interview/Personality Test) through the public portals in accordance with the decision made by the Government to increase the accessibility of unemployed people to work possibilities. Only candidates who will participate in the SSB Interview for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination and are not qualified will be the subject of the disclosure.

UPSC CDS 1 2023 Exam Centers

The UPSC will conduct the UPSC CDS 1 2023 exam at various Centers/Venues all over India on 16th April, 2023 (Sunday) and UPSC CDS 2 2023 exam on 3rd September, 2023.
